The heart of Tapalpa has a story

21 rooms one block from the main plaza. A century-old townhouse with its own café, wrought-iron balconies and the warmth of the Mexican highlands.

Our story

A living townhouse in the center of Tapalpa

Founded in 1976, Hotel Real Carretero has welcomed generations of travelers seeking mountain air, cobbled silence and pine-tree sunrises.

One block from the main plaza, we occupy a traditional Mexican townhouse with wrought-iron balconies, exposed wooden beams and interior patios where Colombian coffee is served at Tintico, our café.

In 1976, within these same walls, scenes from "Arracadas" with Vicente Fernández were filmed. Fifty years later, we keep our doors open with the same warmth.

Rooms

21 rooms, no two alike

Each room keeps the character of the original townhouse: wooden beams, plank floors, handcrafted Mexican details. Crisp linens and the kind of quiet only a mountain town can offer.

Tintico Café

Colombian coffee inside the hotel

The day begins with the aroma of coffee in the inner patio. Breakfast, coffee break and the best way to wake up in Tapalpa.
